In 2016 writer Matt Hanley met the original Starring MH - a model / fashion exec born in Los Angeles by way of France. They became friends, and she encouraged him to pursue his music. She let him use her name, if he formed a really good band, and strived for greatness.

In April 2018, Starring MH signed with Sand Records and began recording in New York City.

As of September, 2021 there are 3 LPs, 3 music videos. A tour in early 2022 is possible.
